Worship Opportunities

FUMC, Amite offers multiple worship opportunities to ensure that our community is provided worship that helps people experience a deeper relationship with God and an invitation to live more faithfully as a people on the journey. We seek to offer vital worship in which people encounter the presence of God and grow in understanding and commitment.

Join us Christmas Eve at 5:30 or 7:00 pm for our Candlelight Communion Services
Our 5:30 service will feature our children lending their voices to the service as well as a more family friendly message and atmosphere. Our 7 pm service will be fairly traditional. Both will offer communion, candle lighting and a beautiful experience of the celebration of Christ's coming. All are welcome!

Our 9:00 am service offers a more casual and relaxed atmosphere. There is generally very little liturgy, a time for prayer and an engaging message that strongly attempts to link ancient Scripture with modern day life. Music is led by talented musicians and includes a mix of contemporary worship songs and gospel favorites. You'll find people dressed comfortably and there is always someone wearing a warm smile! A compassionately staffed nursery is provided for your little ones should you so desire. Holy Communion is celebrated weekly.

Our
11:00 am service is traditionally United Methodist. It includes some liturgy like creeds and  responsive readings. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and features the gift of a world class chancel choir. The message strongly attempts to link ancient Scripture with modern day life. You'll find folks dressed in everything from casual business to coat & tie. A compassionately staffed nursery is provided for your little ones should you so desire. Additionally, children are welcome to participate in the service through a brief message designed especially for them. They may then retire to our children's church time for more age appropriate worship and education. Holy Communion is generally celebrated the 1st Sunday of every month.
